With my weight loss clients, one of the biggest things I discourage is missing a significant amount of protein at breakfast. Why?
Packing in the protein at the beginning of the day helps regulate our hunger hormones throughout the day, so we don’t feel like bingeing on all the food once we get home at the end of the day. We also need to remember there is an upper limit for how much protein our bodies can use at one time, therefore it is helpful to spread our protein throughout the day.

I’ve not really gotten into the whole spiralizing vegetable thing until just recently.
I’ve been loving lettuce wraps recently – from grilled tofu lettuce wraps, to a veggie burger on lettuce. This wrap is yet another one to add to the list, for those wanting to avoid that crash after a high-carb meal or looking to manage their weight.
Although this recipe is a tad laboursome, it’s a great recipe that can supply you with meals for a number of days! With the yield provided below, I was able to make two casserole dishes of this pie and froze one. I’m cooking for one and this supplied me with lunches for two weeks! I’m probably the odd exception in that I can eat the same lunch for two weeks without getting tired of the meal, but for a family this would be great for a couple of days of meals! I also had friends taste test it and they could not believe it was a vegetarian dish…so go ahead and fool the carnivores in your life with this protein-rich dish!
